Morecambe Faces: Tom Marshall

I think Morecambe is in the ascendancy. I hope this continues”.

Tom Marshall, 2019

Tom is a Community Involvement Worker/Project Manager and a big part of the team behind the Morecambe community music Melting Pot project.

Tom is someone who now both lives and works in Morecambe, but is not originally from here.

Born in Scotland, Tom describes being kidnapped to Manchester at age six. where he became a Scottish Manc!!! Then, somehow, he found himself living in Morecambe ten years ago, having escaped a chaotic lifestyle and environment in Manchester. Life is simpler in Morecambe ” I love it,” he says, “I love being by the sea. I think Morecambe is in the ascendancy. I hope this continues.”

He goes on to tell me about how “there are loads of great, free outdoor events and festivals throughout the summer and this seems to be a growing phenomena.” Another plus for him is the people here. “People”, he says, “particularly in the West End, are very interested in community activities and involvement.”
