Number 2 in my Made in Morecambe? series of photographic collages.

Although Morecambe cannot claim to have invented Bingo, it does have a claim to being the place where the game as we know it was given the now universally recognised name… Bingo!

Local legend tells how a Morecambe man, Mr Frank Richards, ran a numbers game on the Central Pier in the late 1920’s, and reportedly, on one memorable occasion shouted out a made up word “Bingo” and thus gave the game it’s name!

Morecambe – Home of Bingo!

The print is a collage of images, including bingo tickets, a bingo ball wheel and the Gala Bingo Hall (site of the old Tower Ballroom).

Comes with free A6 double-sided postcard featuring this image and #1 in the Made in Morecambe? series… THE DISCO BALL.

Prints available in A4, A3 or A2 sizes | Framed prints are available from my Etsy shop.
