Made in Morecambe? #3: Lettered Rock (Morecambe Rocks)

Lettered Rock (Morecambe Rocks) – Made in Morecambe?

Number 3 in my Made in Morecambe? series of photographic collages.

Although Morecambe cannot claim to have invented seaside rock, it does have a claim to being the place where the letters inside the rock were first introduced!

Local legend tells how a Morecambe man, Mr Dick “Dynamite” Taylor, sold boiled sweets from his Morecambe seafront shop and is reported to be the first man to use a new technique allowing him to put words inside the rock, thus creating lettered seaside rock!

Morecambe – Home of Lettered Rock! Morecambe Rocks!

The print is a collage of images, including seaside rock, Morecambe Central Pier, staff of Taylors Noted Toffee shop and dynamite sticks after his nickname, gained from working at the White Lund munitions depot.

Comes with free A6 double-sided postcard featuring #1 in the Made in Morecambe? series… THE DISCO BALL and #2 in the series BINGO.

Prints available in A3, A4 or A5 sizes (unframed)
