Nic and Jason married last September at a venue in Lancaster I’d long been wanting to shoot at… Lancaster Castle. It’s a place I looked out from my kitchen window onto for many years when I lived in Lancaster but never got to do a wedding there. As a working courtroom, the castle has legal restrictions that mean the ceremony room we were in, called “Hadrian’s Tower”, is one of only a few rooms in the castle where photography is allowed. Lancaster Castle is where the infamous Lancashire Witchcraft Trials took place in 1612, and Hadrian’s Tower has some pretty gruesome relics to remind you and surprise your guests!
After the ceremony, we dropped into Nic & Jason’s local, The Borough for a pint and a few pics, then crossed Dalton Square to the Queen Victoria statue and onto the Town Hall for the reception. The whole day was such a pleasure to shoot and we had a lot of fun as their album shows…
