I was recently called upon by Tom Powney of Briggs Shoes in Morecambe to take some promotional photographs of him and his store for a feature in The Parliamentary Review magazine.
Briggs Shoes has been a family-run business since 1863 when it was first opened by Tom’s Great-Great-Grandfather. So the heritage and family lineage was something I wanted to put across straight away. This is Tom with his son Luke, who also works in the store.
If you have a business looking for promotional photography work, please contact me, I’ll be happy to help.

The magazine specified a portrait also of just Tom, so we tried a few set ups to give the magazine editor some choice.

Additionally, the magazine requested a few photos that showed the Morecambe seafront location of the shop, something that would instantly say “Morecambe” to readers, including one that hinted at the coming of the Eden North project across the road from the shop.

Finally, a shop interior was asked for, and because Briggs is so customer-focused in its approach we knew we had to include a few shoppers in the shot if possible.

At this stage, I have no idea which images will be selected but it will be nice to see when it’s published.
