About a year ago whilst looking through old postcards of Morecambe for our High Teas and Holidays project, we came across this great old postcard from the early 1900s of the Charter Day procession on Morecambe promenade.
Looking closer we saw what appears to be the famous North West filmmaking pioneers Mitchell and Kenyon at work filming the parade!
They are certainly known to have been in Morecambe around that time, so it seems very likely it would be them.
To date we know of no other images of the pair at work! What a lovely find if we could confirm it. We have attempted to contact the North West film archive, the BFI and others but no response so far, watch this space for developments.
