Louise and Stuart were recommended to me by previous wedding clients Zoe and Craig, whose wedding I shot at The Great Hall at Mains, back in September 2011, followed by the christening of their daughter Willow Mae in May 2012, so it was lovely to catch up with the two of them again at the Lakeside Hotel in Windermere for Louise and Stuart’s big day.
Louise and Stuart may have found themselves getting married on one of the wettest days all year, but there were nothing but smiles all day for this brilliant pair!
We started the day at the beautiful Lakeside Hotel in Windermere where both Louise and Stuart were getting ready in their rooms, and I set about photographing some of the details of the day, along with a few candid shots and some window-lit portraits.
The ceremony itself was taking place in the Windermere Suite, just 100 yards over the road from the Hotel, but no mean feat in the driving rain. I must admit I was pretty wet through in no time, luckily it did mean I got some great shots!
The Cumbria wedding registrars as always requested just the minimum of shots during the actual service… but I did manage to sneak a few quiet hipshots in… I’ll probably get told off next time they see me!
After the ceremony, it was another dash back through the rain to the Hotel for the charming drinks reception…
… then we all took to the lake cruiser for a dramatic hour long cruise around Lake Windermere…
… and then back on (dry?) land for the Wedding Breakfast and speeches back in the Windermere Suite…
During the meal itself, I wandered around the grounds for some ‘atmosphere’ shots – can you believe people swimming in that weather!!
Then it was back to join the wedding party once more and some impromptu group shots, a fab bouquet-throwing session and and a few more portraits before saying goodbye and heading home to dry off.
My HUGE congratulations to you both. It was a fantastic, fantastic day!
